Looking for a few good reporters

Harvest Public Media is justifiably proud of what it has accomplished in its first two years. But there is no “it” at work here. This is an operation built from scratch on the ideas, hard work and ambition of talented journalists eager to explore a topic of vital importance.

Harvest’s tagline -- “cultivating stories from the ground up” – conveys the emphasis we put on reporting, and giving reporters the tools, time and editorial support to do the stories that no one else is doing. We’ve produced TV documentaries, in-depth radio series, talk shows and live forums; and we’ve accelerated conversations about food production with our Harvest Network.

It’s been a great privilege for me – along with multimedia editor Jeremy Bernfeld and Harvest Network guru Peggy Lowe -- to guide Harvest’s efforts and assist our reporters, who are based at our partner stations.   Every one of our reporters has been simply phenomenal, developing into multimedia reporting stars.

Now, we’re ready to turn a page here at Harvest as we head into Year 3. Three of our partner stations are hiring multimedia reporters to work with the Harvest collaboration.  Ramping up to become an even stronger news organization, we’re looking for fellow cultivators who are not afraid to dig deep and think creatively. Each of these full-time reporters will be employed and based at the partner stations:

Being a part of the Harvest team is a special opportunity. If you are interested in any of the positions or have questions, don’t hesitate to email me at donna.vestal@harvestpublicmedia.org.
