Do you want to cover important issues that affect our lives every day? Are you interested in joining an energetic team looking to take on big topics and explain big problems? Searching for a job that lets you talk to real people and affords you room to be creative?

Then we want you.

Our partner Tri States Public Radio is hiring a reporter to join the Harvest Public Media team. The position is based in Macomb, Ill., and will cover western Illinois and eastern Iowa and Missouri. You can find the position listing (it’s called “Broadcast News Specialist”) here.

We cover food and agriculture in the Midwest and our new reporter based at Tri States will live in the midst of one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world. Their beat will be based in the field, but they’ll cover the economy, climate change, food safety, the energy industry, sustainability and the food system that puts meals on our plates every day.

Harvest is looking for someone who is passionate about where our food comes from, what we grow here in the U.S., and why that’s important. But most importantly, we want someone who can’t stop asking questions and won’t rest until they find the answer.

So come find out where your hamburger comes from, ride the rivers with the country’s most important export, cover the changing environment, dive deep in to international business, or find the intersection of Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

We already have a fantastic team here at Harvest Public Media. And we’re looking for one more member.
