The Agricultural History Society at Mississippi State University
What it is: This academic organization was founded in 1919 to invest in documenting the growing history of American agriculture. It is a nationwide group with members from different universities. The society has published a journal of scholarly work since 1924. It is the third oldest professional organization in the country.
Stakeholders: Agricultural economists, anthropologists, economists, environmentalists, historians, historical geographers, rural sociologists and a variety of independent scholars.
