Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association
What it is: North Carolina-based non-profit devoted to the work and progress of black farmers in the United States and abroad. The association was specifically formed in 1997 to address the concerns of black farmers who were/are plantiffs in a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture filed by thousands of black farmers.
Stakeholders: Membership of more than 1,500 farmers nationwide in 21 state chapters.
